Creating Environmental Awareness in Schools

Dunton Environmental continues on its community programme by promoting environmental awareness in schools situated around the West Midlands area. The latest presentation was held to over 200 pupils at Grove Vale Primary School in Great Barr, Birmingham.

The seminar enabled the students to make the link between global issues and their own environment focusing on simple ways to reduce waste, promote sustainability and recognize the importance of local wildlife and bees in our eco-system.

Dunton also sponsored the schools 'eco-team' by providing a starter-pack of books, gardening tools, bird feeders, flower seeds and a bee hotel to help kick start their plans to create an environmentally friendly nature area.

The Head of School stated "your presentation added value to our pupil’s knowledge of their wider role in the community and we will continue to focus on this in school" also adding "your presence highlighted we can all be doing more".

At Dunton, we truly believe that education provides the catalyst for future generations to bring about change and it is only right that we impart our knowledge with tomorrow's future. Children are great imitators so we give them something great to imitate.

Whilst implementing our schools programme we also recognise the importance of voluntary community work and are particularly interested to learn of any future opportunities where Dunton may be able to provide environmental assistance.
